avocados falling off I see 2 possible reasons for your avocados falling off. watering twice a week seems a little much unless you have a sandy soil. fertilizing twice a week seems too much unless you are using very little fertilizer. I had a similar experience several years ago, so I took some of the fallen avocados to the nursery for advice. they told me not to worry. That it was normal with young trees. Later I discovered that my tree was loaded with bugs under the leaves.By then it was too late to save the fruit. It all fell off.But I was able to save the tree. So I recommend that you look on the bottom side of the leaves with a magnifying glass cause these little buggers are hard to see.I believe they are called thrips. Good luck |

| Perhaps they are ripe? Isn't this the time of year you should pick them or else they'll start falling off? I heard "Mexican Types" of avocados ripen 6-8 months after flowering. And I believe they should flower around January in your area. Does this help? |
