They go green as the season progresses. Mine are now a very pretty bluish green, but after the pink/white/green growth earlier in the season, they did go green, just like they're supposed to do. I love this shrub.

That is an over simplification. It has to do with sun and water balance how well the foliage will hold the variegation. They are best planted in full sun if you have a moist situation, best in less light intensity in drier soil situations. Ours is still quite intensely variegated and fall is upon us. As the foliage matures, of course it will lose the pinkish tinge at the branch tips until when growth starts again next spring. Many plants with variegated foliage do not tolerate high light intensities, but this one will. The location change in our specimen not only vastly improved the foliage drama, it just has a better overall vigour now.
