Dogwood Branches Dying

jrb451

I have a large lower branch (more than 1 1/2" diameter) on a Dogwood that's died. It and the entire tree appeared to be doing well this summer - setting lots of bracts and red berries. Then, over the course of a few weeks, this one limb withered and died. I've seen this before with smaller branches but never one this large.

The rest of the tree looks fine.

What's up?

TIA

    need a pic ...

how did you establish the branch was dead ... could it have just lost its leaves early????

any coincidence to lawn spraying ????
