I live in C.A. out in the country on 3 acres. I have a big backyard and would like to plant one of these. I have clay soil and get quite a bit of wind, the tree will get full sun and be on drip. I was woundering what you guys think, is zone 9 too hot? It might be close to the lawn. Are the roots shallow, if so will they become a problem? What's the closest you would put this tree from your house?

Should be OK. Keep it at least 15 metres from the house, so that it can develop fully. Resin

As you drive around there and look at the vegetation, you noticed of course that there are lots of Atlas cedars around. Whether the "drip" is enough in July-Aug depends upon how much water you deliver. Dan
