| My wife and I recently purchased a home with a small back yard and many poorly placed peach trees. I have cut down several of them, and I am left with one more peach tree that is 7 feet from a beautiful oak tree. Both trees are 5" in diameter, but the peach tree is simply too close to the house. What is an effective way to kill the stump and roots without harming the oak tree's roots? I will be using a stump grinder to remove the stumps completely, but I do not know if that is enough to kill the roots. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

| Yeah, a 5 inch peach tree is not much of a stump. If you're really worried about harming the oak, you could simply dig around that little stump and chop and hack away enough roots to smooth over with topsoil. Seems a non-issue to me, though I'm glad you like the oak. +oM |
