Thank you Ken for your help. Kwazan doesn't sound familiar to me. I do know that it was not tagged as a fruit tree.

It is a cherry of some sort, the bark screams it. Ornamental cherry trees are often found in box stores.

Thank You Ken & Calliope for all your help. I never would have known that this was indeed a ornamental cherry tree. When it did flower it looked beautiful. But now it doesn't seem so pretty to me anymore. It only looks pretty when the flowers are in bloom.

'Kanzan' isn't white. Leaves and habit also different. Possibly another Japanese flowering cherry, otherwise maybe a sweet cherry (Prunus avium). Would be much easier to tell if it was in bloom.

I can often tell from the leaves and habit but nothing is jumping out at me with this one.

'Yoshino' is the common white flowering one.

Kwanzan Cherry has a tight, rigid, somewhat upright habit and as seen here creates a pink blanket of flowers, you do not have Kwanzan.
