Tree stumps aftermath

New to this so bear with me if I'm not posting in the right spot or something. Any help will be greatle appreciated. Recently(2 mons.)ago cut tree down...it was healthy, now we have the tree stump grund up---now I want to grow grass were the tree was and surrounding area--please tell me best way to do this--fertlizers--lime type of seed---etc. anything!!

Remove as much of the ground up chips as you possibly can. Fill in the hole with soil (preferably similar to the surrounding soil). Plant appropriate grass seed. Keep watered well until grass starts becoming established.

yep ... you will be hard pressed to grow anything in soil mixed with too much wood ... the wood.. as it rots.. will tie up all the water.. and use up nitrogen causing seed failure ...

in suburbia.. way back when ... i would dump all the refuse behind the garage .... and then start digging some of the native soil and moving it to the area needed ... and when i was done.. i would shovel all the grindings into the hole...

in a few years.. the grindings will be a wonderful compost... but not now ...
