A basic question about Rhus Lanceas: do other plants grow well around them? I ask because I've noticed in my yard if Rhus Lancea foliage contacts the foliage of another tree, that other tree's limb often dies. Also, plants grown under Rhus Lanceas seem to be generally unhealthy, (as opposed to similar plants growing well under other trees.).
I've cut most of my Rhus Lancias back to a stump, but may let them grow back as bushes if they aren't harmful to other plants. But if they'll continue to harm the trees around them, I'll take them out completely.
I've searched all around the web, forums, and asked at local nurseries and the University Extension Center. No one knows... Thanks!
