During the summer I had a trip to Italy and saw an unusual tree (for me:). Somebody can tell me what is it? Beautiful fruits. Tree was great ....

looks like apricots to me, especially considering the furry skin. Which part of italy was that? That could help with the id

It grows near Garda lake - north Italy, but the fruits were more like small orange apples. Leaves not as apricot - very bumpy surface...

Eriobotrya japonica - it's latin name. It turns out that the fruit is also edible... It also seemed, looked delicious :)

Too bad you didn't try any. They probably had them in the markets, if there were a lot of them around.

It makes a good sweet jam, not that yummy to just eat. The birds love them. Here they reseed everywhere.
