Clonal PawPaws

All,
I have recently found two patches of PawPaw trees, each numbering about 10 good-sized (6" trunk diameter) trees with many more understory trees. But for the life of me, no matter how many time I visit them I can not find even one fruit. With a little research it seems like these are clonal patches that aren't being pollinated (both patches are in isolated creekbeds). Does that sound right? If I plant some seeds in those areas, do you think the rest of the trees would eventually fruit?
Thanks for your help!
