Leaning Dogwood

JonRowley

My, recently acquired, backyard once had a giant tree in the middle of it. It died and had to be removed. As a result I have two smaller dogwoods who obviously favor the side of the yard that was away from the tree. The one in the picture is my bigger concern as it has two trunks and both of them are leaning heavily in the direction away from the where the large tree was. I am afraid if I do nothing it will eventually pull itself over.

I know nothing about trees so am hoping someone here can give me advice as to straightening it by, pruning, topping or perhaps tying a rope to the top and pulling it straight for a couple of years.
