Red Buckeye germinating already

I have planted Yellow Buckeye seeds before, but they didn't germinate until spring, not sure what to do with these. If I plant them in pots now will they wait and start top growth next spring (like white oaks)? It's still in the 70s/80s here during the day.

Are they already planted outside or being stratified or what?

Wrapped in moist paper towels at room temp. I did put them in the fridge tonight though.

Be sure they are in a closed container or plastic bag so they don't dry out. Check them every few weeks to allow gas exchange and to check moisture levels.
