Grifola frondosa (fungus) and oak root disease

Hi all,

I have a large white oak in the yard and recently found a large (8lb) grifola frondosa aka Hen of the Woods in the dirt at the base. While delicious I have read that these can be an indication of disease, specifically root rot. The tree appears healthy but we did have a lot of water this spring though this tree isn't in an area with standing water and is in fact fairly high up.

I am wondering if I should be concerned or just enjoy the mushrooms the tree is sprouting. Thanks!
