Wanted: Acorns! Will Pay Postage!

I'm looking for viable acorns from the following Oak species:

Chinkapin Oak (Quercus muehlenbergii)
English Oak (Quercus robur)
Northern Red Oak (Quercus rubra)
Shumard Oak (Quercus shumardii)
Sawtooth Oak (Quercus acutissima)
Swamp White Oak (Quercus bicolor)

I'll send money for a flat rate USPS shipping box if someone would be willing to fill it with acorns and drop it by the post office.

Please email me at Fifthzim@hotmail.com if you can assist me.

Thanks!

fifthzim...try:

Sheffield's
Lawyers
Schumacher
Conservation seeds, Ohio
Jim Harrington
Acorno Acorns
Mossy Oak
Sierra Seed Supply

That's just a start....a quick search will give you more suppliers of seed. Also, check Superior Trees Florida, and Against-The-Wind liners for small seedlings. Also Reeseville Ridge Nursery...seedlings.

Hope this will help.

prairie moon nursery (google it) also has bare root oaks of at least a couple of those varieties for like $9.

I can get Quercus robur from native trees here, but you'd have to sort out any import regs at your end.

fifthzim, you're about 14 months too late. I could have sent a 55-gallon drum or two filled with Chinkapin Oak acorns last year. This year, was even lighter than normal for an "off" year. I didn't see a single acorn. Only a few caps that the birds or squirrels dropped on the driveway.

Maybe next year.

I have small amounts of Quercus Prinus/Montana and Quercus Palastris. Very small amounts maybe 8-12 acorns each. My trees are small/young. But if others run out I may have a few to offer. I'm surprised, my Q Palustris is only about 9-10 yrs old. The Chestnut oaks are young too.
