Thuja Green Giant are dying...

phailey

I purchased and planted 20 beautiful Thuja Green Giant trees in my backyard in 2011. Each of them were about 3-5 feet when I purchased them, and 2 years later they are about 5-6 feet. They have the reputation of growing 3-5 ft a year and pretty much fail proof. Well of course I had to challange that.

They are all turning brown on the inside of the tree. I water them about once a week, once every two weeks (since Sept). During the summer months I watered them faithfully 1-2 times a week (please note this summer was a little less due to all the rainfall).

They were so beautiful last year, and now they have started taking a turn for the worst since late fall of 2012.

I have not given them any fertilizer (only when I first planted them). They are all 3-5 ft apart and for the most part they all receive full sunlight.

What am I doing wrong?
