| Anyone else notice this? I have a few seedlings out in the yard and the leaves seem normal, but while out hiking in the forest here yesterday collecting leaves for my son (for school) (southwest Wisconsin) i noticed some oak saplings under the canopy had large leaves and some were downright huge. Are they are just growing larger solar collectors to increase the area available to capture sunlight? Is this true for other species? Here is a picture...There all good sized leaves next to the giant. |
