| I just made my first beauty berry jelly (Thanks to you guys for id it and deninmi's recipe).
I tried eating a few berries raw. Yes, Lucky, you are right they don't have much flavor as an individual berry. I guess each one of them is too tiny to taste anything. However, as a whole, it has a very distinct flavor and smells like cooked apple as jelly. I did not add anything to it, except water, sugar, and unflavored pectin to harden it. It is just a pain to pick them..... It's fun though. I wish I could have all volunteer edible plants in my yard. In case of the end of the world, I still have something i can survive with. LOL |

| Thanks for the report, chueh. Did the purple color hold - and how intense is it, if it did? |

| Cool! Thanks for letting us know. |

| Once the berries are heated up with water in the pan, the bright pinkish purple color was gone and turned dark. The jelly looks like the color of loropetalum leaf |
