| Couple folks identified this seedling as black oak.
Does this really look like Quercus velutina with this vibrant fall color? It doesn't really look like Quercus rubra either.

| I often see great color on seedlings. In particular I get red maple seedlings that are florescent colors ... while the parents are just blah yellow. Not being a professional grower, I don't let them grow up to see if the color stays consistent. But it always had gotten me curious about whether seedlings had better color than adults in many cases. |

| yeah .. i had an oak that turned pink for 2 years ... less than a foot tall ... will have to watch it this fall ... its 1.5 feet tall now ... ken |

| Gorgeous color! I had a bur oak seedling with phenomenal red color its first year. Had some color 2nd year. This year it went from green to brown. |

| Ah shoot, I was thinking I was going to have an Oak with great fall color. I'll keep it as Black Oak for now and watch what it does the next couple years. The other seedlings I had turned a yellow brown by the way. |
