I have 3 in my yard. They are doing good. Can you post pics of yours? And how old are yours? If you can't that's fine, I just wanted to see how they'll look in a few seasons. There are few images of the trees in their in-between years. I have seen a mature tree in pictures. I know that hybrids vary, but I was curious what yours look like. Thanks

Thanks Dax. How old are yours? The leaves are the same as mine look. They say that the trees can vary, that is why I wanted to see someone elses. I want to see the mature one in Williamsburg, Va in person. Maybe next spring. Thanks for taking the time . Mine are 2 yaers old here's a pic or 2. pg" target="_blank"> |

Hi poaky, I photographed that Compton's at a friends arboretum. My photo of the tag doesn't indicate the year planted. Dax

Yeah Icadem, I got mine from Mossy oak natives. I have 3 of them but only posted pics of 2 of them. The one I didn't post is in our dog yard and has a fence around it to protect it from dog pee and digging. The top pic is the first one I bought the other 2 are a year younger. Once I got one I wanted a couple more.

If I had more room I would be trying Bebbs oak. I think that one is from Oikos. I have to stop though. If I am going to have room for understory plants in the future, I have to allow room for them. If an oak dies I will have an opening. I don't foresee that happening though. I just planted some Q. Alba acorns to replace a Shingle oak. The Shingle wants full sun so I have to find a place for it. The Q. Alba can stand the part sun it will have until the ailing tree it's under dies. I am happy with the Magnolia's they have at Mossy oak too.
