Weeping Blue Atlas Cedar tree

I want to plant a Weeping Blue Atlas Cedar in my garden and wonder if it will do well in southern CA. I would have plenty of sun, which it requires and would keep it trimmed off the ground, as they say it should be, several inches.

Does anyone know if it will grow well in the San Diego area? I know it needs room for root growth, but are they large damaging roots? I can't imagine they would be. I'm not talking the 15-20 ft variety. I'm wishing to plant the one that gets to be about 8-10'.
