very interesting thanks for sharing. however, other than the supposed age of the genetic material being propagated, both sessile oak (quercus petrea) and common oak (q. robur) are not especially uncommon either in nature or in cultivation in most suitable parts of western europe (ireland may be an exception by reasons of climate or clearing and cultivation of the original forests over time). q. robur in it's various forms and hybrids is not uncommon in cultivation here in north america (got a bunch of seedlings from acorns collected in california!!!).

How about bringing Ailanthus confucii Unger back :-)
