Please help me Identify this pine tree

This tree is located in Los Angeles down the street from the house I was raised i and has been there for atleast 30 yrs and I would love to find out what kind it is so I can maybe get one to plant here in my yard. Anyone have any ideas on what it may be? thanks

Yea sorry about the fuzzy pic. I took this pic last week when I was in Los Angeles and never checked to see how the pic looked.

By the way, if it is an Araucaria it wouldn't be hardy in zone 6.

It's a Bunya Araucaria bidwillii, from Queensland, Australia.

Yes thats it I just googled the name. Will this grow i zone 6 and where can I find one? Thaks alot

Sorry, no. It's a subtropical tree only hardy in zones 9b-10. In the USA, only in southern California, southern Florida.

Can sometimes be damaged by frost even in southern California.

It can be grown as a houseplant though. It grows well indoors for many years. It can be grown in zone 8 here in Florida. We have coning, mature ones nearby. They are only damaged when temps fall to the mid teens..
