Are redwood trees coniferous?

I looked up a picture of the tallest tree on record, The Giant Redwood. I've noticed that it kind of has that "christmas tree" like triangular appearance. So, I was wondering if it's another cone bearing tree like a pine or a spruce? Thanks in advanced!

Not nearly as odd as some other conifers...
Cupressus cones come to mind. The yews and junipers are even more odd but are technically still cones.
