but all brown.. is usually dead ... you can wait until spring... to find out what does not grow in spring ...

they are obviously alive up high ... whether or not to plant them.. really depends on what you want them to look like...

if you like the weirder the better .. then go for it... they were a giant bargain ... lets see what happens .. plant them ...

if you are a retentive type.. and they will drive you insane every time you look at them.. be done with them now ...

they look like juniper.. they look horribly tortured by the seller ... usually they are bulletproof ... but for being such a large plant in a small pot ...

Fertilizer is actually necessary when trees are growing in small containers. The soil is probably empty for some nutrients already after one growing season.

Thanks Ken. They are driving me nuts not being planted and in the small pots. If the small pots is the problem, I can't see any bugs, would they possibly grow some green back on the existing branches or are those branches a lot cause?
