It is blooming heavily! I also have this one and it is one of best species of Illicium. The genus is one of my favorites.

I planted one on 3/1/98. Fabulous evergreen with a very unique flower color.

Which species is it and how were you able to ID it from only the pictures above?

What do you feed it, looks amazing! We were having trouble at home getting a few of our trees and shrubs to put out a sight such as this. I would love to know what you do to get these results. Some people just have a green thumb and can get anything to do well. I on the other hand need to get assistance or I would have nothing left in my yard:) This summer we even broke down and called SpringGreen http://www.spring-green.com/news-detail.aspx?id=82 to give us a hand. The pine trees really shot up and out in just a couple months. We dont have anything as beautiful as your picture, yet! Hope to soon.
