As good as flipping a coin?

| I've posted a topic similar to this, but now that I've narrowed down my choices, I'm hoping to get some feedback vs. flipping a coin (thats really what its come to).
I love and want all these trees but don't have the space. Who is your winner considering overall ornamental value and disease / pest resistance?
Homestead Horsechestnut vs.Cornus Mas
Yellowwood vs. Musclewood
Emperor 1 JM vs. Korean Maple
Eastern Redbud vs. White Fringe Tree |

| Maybe it's because they are as common as dirt here in SW VA, but I'm not a huge fan of redbud. We have an 18-year-old one, and it looks pretty ragged after that time. The trunk looks gnarly & the bark there is really loose & falls off in patches. I've had to prune some dead branches out each year. The bloom is pretty, but I don't care for its looks the rest of the year. The fall color is generally lousy yellow & brown. I have to get a zillion seedlings out of my flower beds every year; I can't pull up even the smallest ones by hand & I have to dig them out. |

| Hopefully I can keep the votes / suggestions going here. I think I am off and running with the Korean Maple and White Fringe Tree. Still not sure which way to go with these. Homestead Horsechestnut vs.Cornus Mas Yellowwood vs. Musclewood |

Homestead Horsechestnut vs.Cornus Mas *TIE-I'm split Yellowwood -Musclewoods are nice trees for sure but yellowwood has more ornamental value. White Fringe Tree- I'm not fond of redbuds in the landscape. Can't comment on those maples. |

I have a white Fringe Tree, Chionanthus virginicus. It is the last plant in my garden to leaf out. I'm getting rid of it. When everything is looking good in the garden in early Spring, this plant looks like it didn't survive the winter. "When ya gonna cut down that tree?", my friends say every Spring. "I thought you were going to cut it down last year." I can't comment on the rest of your selections because our climates are so different and I'm not familiar with most of them. |

| Hmmm, thats one of things I don't like about Hibiscus. The only reason I keep them around is that they flower at a time when little is flowering besides perrenials and hydrangea. Yes, I changed my mind again (and still have until spring to do so, lol). I think I'm going to go with: Yellowwood (may get a Ginkgo in lieu) Homestead Horsechestnut (may get Briotii HC in lieu) Korean Maple (may get a Satomi Kousa in lieu) |
