In the picture you see Loquat tree babies around the tree, they grew apparently as result of fallen fruits
they don`t appear healthy to me .

I'm going to guess water stress (not enough). This can cause shrivelling and premature fruit drop in a lot of friuting trees. While loquats can be drought tolerant for short periods when established, they prefer evenly moist soils and this moisture will also enhance fruit production.

I am wondering that maybe your extended drought is just taking its toll on this tree?

It is possible though,few months ago I discovered sprinkle system is not working right in other areas of my backyard, I called the gardner to fix it but he is lazy and not responsive to my calls, there are shrubs around the trunk so I wasn`t sure if the tree was also affected by the broken sprinkle system too and not getting enough water ,my bad !

tree shouldnt be watered by a sprinkler regardless ...

there is a fruit forum .. i have no doubt about what gal said.. but you might get some other thoughts in that forum ...

Sorry for your loss, I got to eat fresh Loquats from the tree last year (or was it the year before) it made me wish I could grow one back home in zone 6 Pa. I brought home a crapload for my dad. I only have them canned up here.

I have similar problem. Last year I had more than half of loquat fruit start developing brown spot that collapsed and hardened as if mummified. This year I see the same symptom. I am inclined to diagnose as Scab, a fungal disease. However, I need confirmation. Any suggestion?

Loquats can also get fireblight. Not saying this it that, but it could be.
