is the root mass shifting.. or is the water bending the trunk????

and maybe it would be easier to use some small stakes to hold the gator ... which seems to be the base of the problem ...

how about giving us a pic of the tree ...

a 25 gal pot for a 1.5 caliper tree doenst seem right???? .. was it bare rooted??? .. clay soil.. etc

It wasn't bare rooted, but grown pot in pot. I dropped by my landscaper's place and he reminded me we had some bad winds. They will be by Monday morning to stake them. It wasn't the tree physically bending, but the entire thing was leaning a hair. I knew if corrected now, I would have a straight tree. Stonehedge Nursery has really taken care of me.

I measured one of the trees and it was 7 1/8 circumference, just a hair over 2 1/4" caliper. So much for going off my memory.
