It happens with any number of plants. A cold snap followed by a brief warm up. Or sometimes in conjunction with a cool, dry spell then a warm, wet period. Different plants respond to different triggers.

if the leaves aren't breaking bud, its probably alright, though obviously less flowers in spring.
