| First time on the tree forum, but I have a question. We are in northeast Michigan and have lots of oak trees on the property. Usually we have a ton of acorns, so many you can't walk without stepping on them. This year, there are very few acorns anywhere, DH asked his hunting buddies and they haven't seen many either. What has happened to them? I feel for the squirrels and the deer.
We have an apple tree and a pear tree and normally DH has to pick up fallen ones off the ground, not this year! Not one anywhere on the ground all season and there were a lot on the trees! Thanks for any and all answers. Kathy G in MI |

| Oaks will fruit in cycles, so it is not odd to have lean years. As for the apples, well, with no acorns the critters will move to other things. tj |

| Sounds like a late freeze killed them. Killed the immature acorns, and fruit blossoms. Arktrees |
