| I have a few Burr Oak and Catalpa seedlings/small trees that are in pots, and I'm wondering how best to overwinter them, as I really don't have room to plant them in my yard; I already have several Oaks, and there are Catalpas a few houses away. I'll give them away to someone else next spring once they stabilize and can be planted without fear of being cut down.
So what is generally the best way to overwinter small trees in pots? Thanks, vince |

| probably so ... if they are zone appropriate... then let ma nature take care of them... the media in the pot is key .... along with drainage ... and no sun on the pots .... the key: GET THEM DORMANT .. KEEP THEM DORMANT ... once you start caring too much.. loving them too much... in my experience.. you simply end up screwing up one of the variables .. in my high drainage native sand.. i can simply heal in.. pot and all .... ken |
