Nuttall's oak with PIn oak like "pins" WTF?

My area had a rare warm spell today, so I took advantage of it and did some pruning of lower branches. WEll, My Nuttall's oak in my lower yard seems to have Pin oak, well.......Pins along it's branches horizontally. I never noticed this before. I pruned off only one tier of lower branches, but, this tree Labeled from Lowes a few years ago as Nuttll's oak, looks like it is a Pin oak, or a Nuttall's oak which has bred with a Pin Oak. I know, post leaf pics. I just wondered if the Nuttall's oak could be normally sporting these Pin oak-like spikes on it's branches.

I thought Nuttall was similar to pin, scarlet & willow oaks w/the pin-like twigs. My "Shumard" also has pin-like twigs which is why I think it has some Nuttall in it.

From what I see, they do, but, the branches don't slope downward like Pins do.

Okay, yeah, it is not shaped as Pin but, has the little "pins". Thanks all. Poaky1

Driving yesterday, saw a large willow oak that indeed had straight, thin, downward-trending lower branches, but a wider crown than pin.

The particular nuttall's oak I limbed up one tier indeed had those short Pin';s on the inside of the limbs, but wasn't shaped as Pin oaks with the decsending branches. I have 2 Willow oaks but they are small, one is about 17 inches tall, the other is about 3 ft tall, so I can't speak for how they will be shaped. Well, whatever, I guess they are normally shaped then.
