| Few years back I planted a couple tiny variegated Ilex something or others. One is hanging out, the other dead from too much water I figure.
I also have two decent looking generic hollies about my height. Just today I thought they were looking pretty good against the drab background. Then I thought almost every other type of tree gets a photo gallery around here. Anyone have some good Ilex anything to show? |

| This probably isn't what you had in mind. Ilex crenata, 'Convexa'. I started these plants as cuttings years ago. Works way better than Boxwood in my climate. Mike |

| That is awesome, Mike! They do make terrific hedges, although they are not used as such near enough here. They are somewhat commonly planted as specimens/accents, but the only ones I have seen as a hedge are at my parents house. Do you do the pruning on that lizard? John |

| Very cool, Mike! I love Ilex, hubby just brought home a couple small ones for out back. A couple weeks ago we found some 'Hector's Gold' i.v. and planted them up front as a hedge, I posted about them on the shrubs forum as I couldn't find much info on this variety. Love the look of them, hope they live long and prosper in their new location. :) |

| Here's one I propagated a number of years ago. They root pretty easy, but slow off the git-go. Mike A varigated Ilex aquafolium. And a close-up. |

| Well there are a couple good ones out there! What inspired tue lizard? I had a deer take a few bites around an arborvitae, give it a poodle tail look for a couple years. Nothing cool like a lizard. How does your aquafolium hold up? Does it burn in summer or winter? |
