Does anyone have seeds or know a source of plants? This would probably be in Europe or UK. While I am running out of room in my yard, when I saw it I saw how unique it looks and wanted to try it. I found a nursery in the UK but no overseas shipping. The turners oak is a hybrid of Q. Robur and Q Ilex. The Ilex is zone 7 and robur is 3 or 4, so it may be okay in zone 6. I'll keep web searching, it may be hard to find. There is a mature specimen at Kew. I will pay generously for acorns to try!

There's a couple in my local public park, but I've never seen them produce a single acorn. From what I've read, it is notoriously shy about producing acorns elsewhere too; it is always propagated by grafting. I suspect USDA wouldn't allow scions to be sent to the USA, because of disease risks. Resin

After a long session of web searches, I got lucky. I found someone who has seed grown Turners oaks. They said they may not be truely 50/50 of each tree. They aren't the Pseudoturneri grafted trees, they're natural. When I hear grafted I think suckers around the base of a tree/shrub. I'll be getting a 1 yr old seedling. I need to find out it's soil preferences as far as drainage goes. I think both parents like well drained soil. Thanks for replying Resin

I've got an email (finally) from the nursery giving me the Turners, and it's on it's way.
