Live oak is my guess. Looks like there is a lot of lateral growth starting.It would help if you told us where tree lives.

Looks like somewhere in the south judging by those pines.

Thank You, tree is in coastal South Carolina. I've heard there are several types of Live Oak....trying to narrow it down.

Nobody can make out any detail unless you get closer with your camera.

I thought posting the leaf would give the best detail. Thanks.

Buds and twigs will add a lot of info

It looks like a Live Oak because the leaves on a Laurel Oak are very flat.

Southern Live Oak is Quercus virginiana. Common as can be in Coastal S. Carolina.

Live is thicker than Laurel so I guess Live oak. I believe someone said this already, I second it. I have a Live oak in my front yard, and it also has that Holly type shape on some leaves, Laurel LIKELY doesn't. Poaky1
