What type of cherry tree?

I have a couple spots in my yard where a cherry tree would look nice, but I'd need to keep it small side... 20ft or under. Am I limited to a weeping cherry? Also, in one of the spots I have pool plumbing a few feet below surface level. Is this the wrong tree to plant above schedule 40 PVC?

Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!

As far as I know most cherry trees are capeable of getting pretty large. I'm sure you could probably find a small cultivar somewhere though. Are you looking for the blossoms or fruiting trees? I wouldn't plant the tree above pipes. Make sure when you dig you will not hit them or the tree will as it grows. If there is the risk, don't plant the tree.

Japanese apricot is small-growing and smells like carnations in flower. It is the "plum blossom" of Japan, where there is an entire park devoted to a large collection of numerous kinds. For particular cultivars liable to be encountered at those retail outlets in California that may order them...
