Mystery pear...cannot identify

I have searched high and low but cannot identify this pear. It blooms heavier than any pear I've ever seen. It gets lots of brown skinned pears similar to Bosc, but very very hard...like rocks. They must have a purpose...other than deer food. Heck, my chickens even struggle with them. I have to smash them with a shovel before they are able to break pieces off to eat.

Where are you located. Do you have a picture of the whole tree?

We are in zone 7 in northern AZ. Unfortunately this is the only picture I have, this one was in fact stolen from another blog where someone was trying to identify it to no avail. The tree itself is huge, but looks like other large pears I've seen. Some of the fruits get larger (about 3") but most stay to about 2" or less. A few start falling from the tree in mid-november, but here it is December and all the leaves are gone with most of the fruit remaining. The most distinguishing feature is the brown skin, looks and feels like a russet potato. One poster on the other blog claimed the fruit will soften if wrapped in paper and left in the garage until mid-January. Which I plan to try.

Maybe a self-sown hybrid between an Orchard Pear and a Callery Pear? Resin

No where near enough information for even a good guess, IMO. It may well be an unnamed seedling. Identification of a pear cultivar (if that's what you are after) would most often require much more input than what you have provided.

Seckle pears are pretty hard, but they are usually smaller.
