Interesting question. To make the question more challenging, I want to ask you two question. What type of roof do you have and what is the roof's pitch? Without this information, I can't think of a more efficient, cost effective and aesthetic norm than gutters to concentrate flow to a place the water can be stored for use in the future. Please describe in more detail what you mean by horizontal barrels. Thanks. Aloha
