I really want to set up rainwater harvesting at my house this winter (if it ever rains again), and I'll need plenty of barrels for our Mediterranean climate.

Does anyone have any idea where I can find free or super-cheap barrels? My husband can convert them into rain barrels, we just need the raw materials. What kind of companies might have used barrels they could give us?

Also, what kind of barrels would be appropriate if I'm using the water for irrigation (as opposed to drinking)? Do I need food grade?

Any advice would be much appreciated.
