Sprinkler System Info/Recommendation--Fairfax, VA

Good morning all!

So i'm thinking of putting in a sprinkler system at my house in Fairfax, VA. It's a standard size lot if that helps. I was hoping someone might be able to give me a rough idea/estimate on how much they've spent on a sprinkler system. What are good brands/equipment? Any particular type of set-up i should look into? Also recommendations on who to use would be great as well!

So much more info is needed to help you.

Are you interested in DIY or have a contractor do it?
How big is the area and what will be irrigated?
Is this a new home or old?
What quality are you able to afford? Each brand have levels of quality.
Where will you tap your water from? Hose bib or front yard
water main?
Are you able to make a scale drawing of your yard?
What is you water source flow rate and pressure?
That is all I can think without seeing your yard.
