very old avocado trees

We are having a drought here. My 70 year old
avocado trees appear to be dying at the top.
I have just started deep watering by leaving the water on a slow overnight. The trees are huge. Lots of burned leaves on them both.

RE: very old avocado trees

What is your frequency of watering overnight? How big is the tree's trunk and how wide is the canopy? Have you done any fertilization recently? You might post this thread in the Tree or fruit tree Forum. Aloha

RE: very old avocado trees

A slow overnight soak might be excess for avocados because, when the soil is too moist, avocados get root rot.
