I live in the country and have many large gardens, and I am interested in knowing whether anyone living in a Zone 3-4-5 has installed and used a drip irrigation sprinkler in lieu of an inground commerical sprinkler system. I am looking at this type of system to conserve on water, make it easier to water by using timers and to keep the water source as close to the ground since my well water contains an iron product that when exposed to air coats the foliage with a brown film (not immediately but by the end of the summer, most of the foliage has a rust glow). Since I live in Minnesota, the state of 10,000 lakes, I am not finding alot information on the use of drip irrigation here nor do I find an abundance of product available.
