I'm looking to replace my current (17-year old) sprinkler controllers with one that can be controlled from inside the house via remote control. We currently use about 18 zones on two controllers, and the new system could be on either one or two controllers as long as a single remote can control both. The controllers are located in the garage.

The main functionality that I'm seeking in the remote is a pause function for a running program. We would sometimes like to take a shower when the sprinklers would otherwise be running, and rather have to go down to the garage, and pause the cycle, it would be great to do that from upstairs.

I've looked online at Toro TMC-424, Hunter and Irritrol systems, but I haven't been able to conclude that any of them does what I want.

If anybody has a winning suggestions, my wife says that it will take care of her Christmas and next birthday presents - I'm motivated!
