Turning on Sprinkler System

So the warm weather the other week got the best of me, and I did a foolish thing and opened up the valves to my sprinkler system already. I'm realizing now that it's a bit early for that and am worrying about the water in the pipes freezing. What's the best course of action to take? Should I close the main valve and open up the sprinklers to let them drain? Fully winterize the system again? Or, just leave it be and cross my fingers?

Probably the underground parts of the system are ok at this point. You might though close the valve inside your house and open the small drain valve and drain it into a bucket. There's probably also valves outside that you can open to make sure that all of the above ground plumbing gets as drained as possible. There might be some hard freezes yet. Insulating the outdoors part of the plumbing is a good idea also.
