Why this name? I have used both and both are fine. I would lean toward Hunter for quality. My advice flip a coin or go with you advantages you like. I know I didn't help too much. Aloha.

Thanks lehua13. The Rain Bird guy actually uses the Hunter valves, he says they hold up better. Will see who others have used in the area. Squonk name is from an old Genesis song.

Personally I prefer RB to Hunter. I think their control systems are easier to use, RB's control valves offer better reliability, and RB's 1800 series spray heads are unparalleled. The two different manufacturers are virtually the same in rotor technology. Plus, anytime you have a design with more heads, that's generally a good thing.
As far as screen names go, you have a good one! Old school Genesis is one of my all time favs. I saw Genesis in '82 and it was one of the best shows I've ever seen!
