Anyone accomplished a Rain Barrel system with electric pump?

I'd like to collect my rain water this year to save money. These things don't have any pressue on their own unless I put it up on block and even then isn't anything like city water pressue. Maybe I'm missing something but it seems like there isn't enough pressure to irrigate with the barrel on the ground.

Anybody use a rain barrel with pump on a timer to accomplish watering?

There is a unit like you describe out on the market. You won't save money but maybe your time. Look up past threads and try google. Aloha

Anyone ever heard that you're not supposed to use food grade drums for vegetable watering?? Seems unlikely but that's what someone selling them on Craigslist said.
