Irrigation System-Poly or PVC?

I posted this in the lawncare section this morning and was recommended to come here. I searched other postings and havent seen this asked or answered.

Good Morning Everyone,

I'm more of a lurker on the tractor and mower section for several years. I've always gotten good advise and may have helped someone a time or two, I hope.

I am finally going to pull the trigger on an Irrigation System in Indianapolis for our home. It sits on a 1/2 acre lot. I've had it with dragging hoses.

I am getting quotes, have a verbal and will be getting a written from another company. One company uses PVC while the other uses flexible poly with the main runs being PVC.

Any thoughts or suggestions? The PVC guy is going to be more expensive, is it worth the money? When I asked him about the difference he mentioned line pressure is lower with poly and feels that the fittings are more secure with PVC.

I'd appreciate your suggestions and opinions,

Thanks in Advance,

SteveG
