well point for self-dug shallow well

hi, me and my dad just recently jetted down our own shallow well, we are pretty sure we went deep enough (25ft) considering our water table is 8ft, but we are having an issue when we are pumping the water out. when we close off the opening and attach a pump right behind our pump, we have plenty of pressure and we always have water, but when we open the pipe with no hose, the pump pushes water with immense pressure, but the water runs out and it takes 30 seconds for it to come back. we think it pumps it out quicker than it replenishes in the well, but we were wondering if having a sprinkler system hooked to it would give us the satisfying effect like the hose had (continuous water and pressure) or if it will have crazy pressure and suck out the water and water our lawn in 10 second spurts. does anyone think it may be the length of the well point (ours is 10ft)
