In-line drip irrigation for SFG

Hi,

I have a drip irrigation system with 1/4" soaker hoses

coming off a 1/2" poly tube. Not thrilled with the

system because the soaker hoses do not water

uniformly and there is little control. I am switching to

an in-line drip system but I am not sure of the spacing.

I read the emitters should be every 6" but I am having

trouble finding that available. Is 9" or 12" sufficient.

How many tubes would go into a 4x4 and a 4x8 box?

here's where I got mine, they have the 6" spacing on the 1/4" line.

I can't help but wonder if the reason you have had irregular water flow is that the hoses you've been using are not pressure compensating?

My advice would be to try to find some that are pressure compensating so the area farthest from the water source receives similar amounts of water as the areas closest to the water source.
