A garden book i have says you can use an old hose and punch holes every so often, attach a cap on the end, and install a timer and voila you have a drip irrigation system (especially if it didn't work)

Has anyone on here done this? It sounds to easy to be true.

just wanted to here some thoughts on this before I go punching holes. I'm moving next year, so I didn't want to go all in on a good system until I know what my garden situation will be at my next house.
